chapter synopsis/scans: extra story [nov '03] Splash page for Extra Story - Kripton Brand Side B page 1 In which we learn that Ken, Chloe and Free are Team East, and the other three West Team, as Mihirogi ( mission co-ordinator ) gives them directions during a mission - also telling Aya to lead properly. page 2 In which Chloe speaks and warns Ken - whom he's supposed to be backing up - in German. page 3 In which Ken is, naturally, confused, and Free steps in with - in Mihirogi's words - great timing. page 4 In which Ken yells at Chloe about not warning him, to which Chloe calmly remarks that he did do so - still in German - and asks Free if that isn't so...Free, naturally, affirms it shortly. Meanwhile, West Team is contacted. page 5 In which East Team is informed that the target will be met in 10 seconds, and a countdown started - and West Team too heads to meet the target. page 6 In which the countdown ends, Ken is nonplussed and asks if East Team is the target, and Yuki asks the target to reveal itself... page 7 In which we find that the target is a kitten, and the simulation ends. During the debrief that follows, it appears that only Ken was not aware of this. page 8 In which Ken complains and is brushed off as Mihirogi conducts the debrief. Aya, Michel and Yuki are told that though their subtle judgement is impressive, they should hold back from acting rashly, and they need to be thorough in reporting on conditions. Ken, Chloe and Free lack agreement, it seems. page 9 In which Ken protests that it was because Chloe wasn't speaking English, to which Chloe replies to Ken in rather insulting English. Ken can only manage, in hiragana: "A...ai bekku yua paadon?" Chloe responds with a resounding "HA!" - which provokes Ken to grab Aya by the collar and start ranting in Japanese, while Mihirogi says they will need to properly grasp their communication, and though everyone will have to remember Japanese as well...first of all ( choruses everyone, including Aya but excluding Free, who for the entirety of the debrief looks completely unimpressed ^_^;; ), Ken should learn English properly! And all Ken can say to that is a resigned "...hai." |
